Background Information:

Taekwondo Machine is a community Taekwondo club established in Manchester in 2011. We now train at several venues in East Manchester including the home for the Great Britain Taekwondo Team, Ten Acres Academy! We offer training for all abilities from beginners to National Team athletes. We offer training sessions for children (from 6 years and above) and adults. We are affiliated to British Taekwondo and the World Taekwondo Federation. All of our instructors have enhanced CRB checks and extensive experience and qualifications.

Taekwondo Machine adopts an anti-doping policy in line with GB Taekwondo and the UK Anti-Doping Rules.


Danyal Mirzaie

Danyal Mirzaie is Taekwondo Machine’s head instructor for  the advanced athletes. He has over 15 years of fighting experience at international level and was previously a Sports Aid funded athlete. In 2011-2012 he trained with the Great Britain Team athletes at the GB Taekwondo Academy. He has coached several Taekwondo Machine members from beginner level to the GB Squad in less than two years. Danyal also works as a development pathway coach for GB Taekwondo’s Cadet Squad and coaches the GB Masters (veteran) athletes.

Dr Lucy Walton

Lucy Walton is the main contact for the club. She arranges the admissions of new members and leads on club development opportunities. Lucy is the main coach for the novice (beginner) groups. She was a Talented Athlete Scholarship Scheme award winner in her youth and has won medals at international events. Lucy is also the manager of the GB Masters (veteran)Taekwondo Team.
